Dustin Turner
B i o g r a p h y
Dustin began his musical studies in violin at age 4 and piano at age 7 and continues his studies in the Meadows School of Arts at SMU in Dallas. Dustin has won positions in the top Texas All- State Symphony Orchestra in violin throughout high school and performed as both a violin and piano soloist for several orchestras. He has been a member of an advanced string ensemble that performs for weddings and banquets, as well as, served as violin section leader of the Hill Country Youth Orchestra in Kerrville for 10 years.
Music has inspired in Dustin a love for travel. In the summer of 2005, Dustin (at age 9) was chosen by his violin instructor to be part of an ensemble of advanced string students that would perform concerts in China as a cultural exchange enrichment. The ensemble, Strings in Motion, received national attention and media coverage while in China.
Dustin has performed as an invited soloist for master classes in the San Antonio area with Juilliard dean, Stephen Clapp; the musical trio, Time for Three; San Francisco Symphony violinist, Daniel Kobialka; the Bulgarian pianist Ina Selvelieva; and the world-renowned violin soloist, Vadim Gluzman.
